Four Turkish soldiers killed in northern Iraq

WORLD, Sept. 12 (YPA) – The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that four soldiers were killed and others injured in clashes with PKK militants in northern Iraq, Anadolu Agency reported, citing the ministry’s statement.

The ministry said in a statement that the clashes took place during combing operations in the area of Operation Claw – Lock.

The statement noted that the injured soldiers were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment.

On April 18, Turkey launched the “claw-lock” operation against the strongholds of the “PKK” terrorist organization in the areas of Matina, Zab and Afshin-Basian in northern Iraq.
