SANAA, Sept. 06 (YPA) – The Ministry of Electricity and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to implement a number of electrical projects with renewable energy from solar and wind sources.
The MoU, which was signed by Minister of Electricity, Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Al-Bukhiti and Head of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Hassan Al-Kbous, included the start of preparations for the implementation of a project with a capacity of 200 megawatts in one or two sites from solar or wind sources.
The agreement also included inviting the private sector to invest in solar energy projects according to a timetable to be agreed upon, with the priority of Hodeida province, in addition to the cooperation of the two sides in preparing for the third scientific conference for renewable energy.
