Islah accuses STC of buying the loyalties of its leaders

ADEN, Sept. 05 (YPA) – The Islah party accused the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) of attracting leaders and elements affiliated with the party in the southern provinces.

According to Belgees TV channel, the STC has drawn up a new plan to contain the last remaining military and political leaders who were loyal to Hadi and Islah.”

The report pointed out that the STC has already begun distributing forms to military leaders, officers and military personnel in order to join the STC’s  forces, after offering a number of temptations and privileges that the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council was unable to provide.

“The temptations provided by the STC to the so-called  ‘legitimate’ forces in Abyan and Shabwa are regular salaries, starting from 1,000 Saudi riyals per month for soldiers, and up to 2,000 and 2,500 riyals for officers, and first-tier commanders in brigades and military areas,” according to the report.

The confessions come a few days after the announcement of presidential protection brigades affiliated with Islah, to join the UAE-backed forces, which oversee the security of the Ma’ashiq Palace, where the head of the Riyadh Presidential Council resides.
