SANAA, Sept. 03 (YPA) – UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias announced on Saturday the start of the countdown to the presence of Islah militants in the oil-rich districts of Wadi Hadramout.
Member of the so-called “Presidency of the STC,” Lotfi Shatara, affirmed that “First Military Region” militants should leave Valley’s districts, and the replacement of the “Hadrami Elite” militia.
Shatara said on Twitter the popular movements in Hadramout heading to end the presence of what he called the “Northern Forces” from Seiyun, in a clear reference to the achievement of the “STC” project that demands the rupture of Yemen’s unity under the umbrella of the coalition.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia, through the “STC” militia since last August, have sought to uproot the people of the northern provinces from all the camps in the in the south, and accused Islah militants of rebellion and terrorism.
This came after the UAE gave Islah militants 48 hours to leave the “First Military Region” camps in Wadi Hadramout, amid the refusal of the region’s leaders and their declaration of confronting any escalation from the “STC” militia.
