According to SONNA, at least 17 people were killed in the attack.

The heinous attacks by Al-Shabaab terrorists on the people who migrated from the drought-affected areas of Hiraan and Galgadud region has de-esclated since the start of anti terror operations carried out jointly by the government forces and the local people in those areas.

The al-Shabab group has not yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Somalia has been at war for years against al-Shabaab, which was founded in early 2004 and is an armed movement ideologically affiliated with al-Qaeda and has adopted numerous armed operations that have killed hundreds.

The group has controlled one of the 18 provinces that make up the country for 8 years after losing large cities to government and African forces, but it is active in rural areas south and center of the country.
