ADEN, Aug. 31 (YPA) – A journalist’s son affiliated with the “UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias” was assassinated on Tuesday in the center of the city of Aden, south of Yemen.
Local sources in the city stated that “Akram, 27,” the son of the journalist, Adel al-Hanashi, was shot by unknown gunmen believed to belong to the “STC ” militia, amid mysterious circumstances.
The sources indicated that the gunmen managed to escape after carrying out the assassination of al-Hanashi’s son, attributing the reasons to settling accounts between him and leaders of the “STC” militia.
Meanwhile, the STC’s media outlets attributed the killing of al-Hanashi’s son, in retaliation for his father’s hostile stance against the Islah party’s presence in the southern provinces.
