Iranian Ambassador to Beirut: We ready to send fuel for free as soon as the Lebanese government accepts
BEIRUT, Aug. 27 (YPA) – Iran Ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani has affirmed that his country’s readiness to send the fuel necessary for the operation of power plants as an unconditional gift as soon as the Lebanese government accepts.
“My country is keen to provide full support to the Lebanese people, if Lebanon accepts the donation, it will be possible to send an official delegation to Tehran to coordinate directly on the implementation plan,” the Iranian ambassador said.
The Iranian ambassador’s remarks came during his meeting with the Secretary-General of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party in Lebanon, Ali Youssef Hegazy.
Hegazy stressed “the party’s appreciation for the role of Iran, which contributed to avoiding Lebanon and the region from falling into the trap of many conspiracies aimed at changing the identity of the region and dropping its rightful issues, foremost among which is the liberation of Palestine.”
He also praised “Iranian initiatives in support of the Lebanese people that help them overcome their plight, not least the unconditional gift of Iranian fuel,”
Hegazy expressed regret that the Lebanese government has not yet accepted the donation despite the suffering experienced by the people as a result of the permanent power cuts.
