UAE-backed military commander injured in bomb attack in Lahj

LAHJ, Aug. 25 (YPA) – A senior military commander loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s was injured on Wednesday, in an assassination attempt in Lahj governorate, southern Yemen.

Activists circulated on social media the news about the bomb attack on Yasser al-Sawmali,  the commander of the “Eighth Brigade”.

According to the activists, an improvised explosive device planted by unknown gunmen, exploded and targeted the commander in the area of Tur al-Baha west of the province.

No further details were given about the incident.
