JEDDAH, Aug. 12 (YPA) – Saudi authorities said on Friday that a wanted man by security forces was killed after blowing himself up with an explosive belt he was wearing, injuring three security men and a Pakistani resident.
The Saudi Presidency of State Security, in a statement, identified the wanted man as Abdullah bin Zayed al-Bakri al-Shahri, who was killed as he blew himself up after being besieged in Jeddah on Wednesday evening.
“When conducting his arrest procedures, he blew himself up with an explosive belt he was wearing, which resulted in his death, and a resident of Pakistani nationality and three security men sustained various injuries, after which they were transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment,” the statement read.
According to the statement, the Presidency of State Security, as it announces this, confirms that it will continue with determination and firmness in confronting all those who may be tempted to prejudice the security and stability of this country and the safety of citizens and residents on its lands.
