2 killed by flooding due to heavy rainfalls in Jawf

JAWF, Aug. 04 (YPA) – At least two people were killed due to torrential rains and floods that hit Yemen’s Jawf province, the state-ran Yemeni News Agency (Saba) reported on Wednesday.

A security source told (Saba) that the floods washed away a car carrying two citizens in Wadi Al-Yatama in Khub Washaef directorate, in addition destroying a total collapse of six houses in the city of Al-Hazm and partially damaged 20 houses.

The source confirmed that dozens of houses and farms also were damaged; wells water and solar systems were buried in a number of directorates.

He warned citizens against being in the valleys and flood corridors, or waterways for their safety.

The same source pointed out that the floods washed away cars and destroyed roads linking villages and the directorates of the province.

The branch of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the province has launched a distress call to humanitarian partners to carry out their duty to alleviate the suffering of those affected by rains and floods.
