SANAA, Aug.01 (YPA) – The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli on Monday discussed with European Union’s Ambassador to Yemen Gabriel Munuera Viñals, via video technology, the humanitarian work in Yemen.
The meeting touched on a number of topics related to the humanitarian situation and mechanisms for providing assistance in accordance with humanitarian standards and priorities of actual need in the field.
Al-Hamil called on the Ambassador of the European Union to visit Yemen to learn about the human suffering and the destruction of infrastructure and facilities in all sectors due to Saudi-led aggression and find out the scale of the humanitarian disaster and the needs.
He praised the efforts of the European Union in the humanitarian field through alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.
For his part, the Ambassador of the European Union praised the positive efforts of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, to facilitate the work of organizations operating in Yemen.
He stressed the importance of communication and joint coordination.
Gabriel Munuera Viñals expressed the union’s aspiration to make further progress in helping the Yemeni people and alleviating their suffering.
