SANAA, Aug. 01 (YPA) – The National Meteorological Center affirmed that heavy rains have swept most of the streets of the ten districts of the capital Sanaa, calling on citizens to take away from water ways.
In its forecast, the center warned citizens against being in the valleys and flood corridors, and water ways as a result of rain, calling on motorists to drive carefully on mountainous roads due to the low horizontal visibility dense low clouds.
The forecast had expected rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms on the mountainous heights of the provinces of Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Raymah, Mahweet, Hajjah, Dhamar, Sanaa, Amran and Saada.
It pointed out the possibility of light rain on the southern and eastern coasts, and light to medium rain on parts of the western coasts and the adjacent interior areas, with active winds.
The center stated that the monsoon winds would be it speeds between 35-45 knots in the Socotra archipelago and 15-25 knots in the Gulf of Aden, the eastern and southern coasts, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.
