Armed clashes erupted in Wadi Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, July.31 (YPA) – Armed clashes erupted on Sunday among armed groups of the Saudi-led coalition in Wadi Hadramout, east of Yemen.

Local sources said that the clashes happened between the militants of the “First Military Region” affiliated with Saudi-backed Islah leader Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar and tribesmen loyal to the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council STC militias in Al-Houta area.

It indicated that the security authorities of the Minister of Interior in Aden government, Ibrahim Haidan, sent reinforcements to the area, noting that the tense situation between the two parties.

The districts of Wadi Hadramout are witnessing military tensions between the STC and Islah amid Emirati-Saudi tendencies to expel the Islah militants from the districts and hand them over to the “Hadhrami Elite” militia, which received training by an American officers at Al-Rayyan Airport that the UAE forces has been control over since 2016.
