Shura Council condemns coalition crime against Yemeni pilgrims in Abyan

SANAA, July. 26 (YPA) – Yemen’s Shura Council strongly condemned on Tuesday the crime of looting committed by the Saudi-led coalition force against the Yemeni pilgrims in Mahfad district of Abyan province, south of Yemen.

The council considered in a statement the acts of intimidation, and looting of money and properties of the pilgrims returning to the homeland after performing Hajj by an armed group affiliated with the coalition forces, is a war and arbitrary crime, which contradicts all religious principles and values, humanitarian laws, customs and Yemeni tribal ancestors.

The statement said this crime of the coalition and its tools against the pilgrims a disgrace on the forehead of all the political forces loyal to the coalition in the southern provinces and Abyan tribes who allowed bandits to use their lands as arenas for looting and killing travelers.

It held the coalition and its tools responsible for this crime and all other crimes committed against the people of Yemen.

The statement also held the United Nations and the international community responsible for the shameful silence towards the war crimes, looting of travelers and a suffocating siege that the Yemeni people have been subjected to for eight years.
