Chinese military official: US is a major destroyer of peace and stability

WORLD, Jul. 20 (YPA) – Colonel Shi Yi, spokesman for the Eastern Theatre Command of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), said “The United States is a major destroyer of peace in the Taiwan Strait”.

“The provocations and continued offers by the United States fully show that the United States is a destroyer of peace and stability, and a source of security threats in the Taiwan Strait,” said a in statement issued by  Shi Yi commenting on the passage of the USS Benfold on Tuesday across the Taiwan Strait,

It was published on the Eastern Region of the Chinese Army Military Command page of the WeChat social network.

He added that the Chinese military accompanied the US destroyer along its route across the Taiwan Strait.

The military official  also noted that the eastern region forces of the military command were always on alert to protect China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
