Russia calls on all parties in world to make efforts to protect int’l laws

HANOI, Jul. 07 (YPA) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday called on all parties in the world to make efforts to protect international laws because “the world is developing in a complex way.”

This came in a meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart Bui Thanh Son in Hanoi, according to what was reported by Russian news agencies.

“Vietnam is a major partner (of Russia) in ASEAN,” Lavrov said at the meeting, referring to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. “The relations between the two countries are based on history and their common struggle for justice.”

European Union leaders urged Moscow to abide by an order issued by the International Court of Justice requiring Russia to withdraw from Ukrainian territory.

Lavrov’s visit to Hanoi comes as the two countries celebrate the 10th anniversary of their “comprehensive strategic partnership.” He will then head to Indonesia to attend the G20 foreign ministers meeting this week.
