UAE uses food as weapon to starve Socotra sons

SOCORTA, June. 27 (YPA) – The United Arab Emirates has continued to starve people of Socotra by using food as weapons in the province.

According to local sources revealed that the Emirati representative in the Socotra archipelago had hidden and confiscated the relief wheat shipment that had reached the islanders.

The sources quoted eyewitnesses as saying that they saw cars and trucks belonging to the so-called “Khalifa Relief Foundation” carrying the relief materials that arrived at the airport on the Emirates Air Cargo and deposited them in warehouses belonging to the UAE delegate “Khalfan Al Mazrouei”, known as “Abu Mubarak”, without distributed to the citizens.

The sources stated that hiding the aid came as a prelude to speculation in local market prices, as the sons of the island has been living in a suffocating crisis in flour and wheat for nearly two weeks due to the sea rage caused by the monsoon winds in Socotra.

Emirati forces imposed their military control over the city of Hadibo on June 19, 2020, with Saudi complicity in controlling the island.
