YPC: Coalition releases fuel ship and one vessel still detained

SANAA, Jun. 18 (YPA) – The Yemen Petroleum Company (YPC) has on Friday announced that the Saudi-led coalition has released a detained fuel vessel but still keeps another one in captivity.

The company’s official spokesman Essam Al-Mutawakel stated that “in conjunction with the release of  “Voice Energy”, an oil ship, the coalition forces seized another ship “Uhud”, which is carrying 30,929 tons of gasoline, in a new violation of declared UN armistice.

The spokesman of YPC has renewed the demand of the international community, Security Council, and international human rights to pressure the US-Saudi aggression and oblige it not to practice piracy on fuel ships.

Despite the ongoing UN-sponsored truce, the coalition of aggression continues its piracy, detaining fuel ships, and preventing them from entering the port of Hodeidah, despite having undergone inspection and received UN clearance.

This violation aggravates the humanitarian catastrophe due to the suspension of many vital service sectors, especially hospitals, electricity, water, cargo trucks, as well as waste trucks.
