IOM sends mobile medical team to Hodeidah city

HODEIDAH, June 21 (YPA) – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Thursday announced sending of a mobile medical team to Hodeidah city in response to medical needs resulting from Saudi-led coalition’s offensive to control the city and its port.

“The team consists of several physicians, who will provide health services to those affected,” media and communications official at the organization’s office in Yemen said.

He added that the organization’s office is currently preparing to send five ambulances to the city.

Several districts of Hodeidah province have witnessed fierce battles for weeks between the Yemeni army forces and the coalition forces, in an attempt by the latter to advance towards the city of Hodeidah to control its harbor.

According to the United Nations, 5,200 Yemeni families have been displaced since the beginning of the current month.
