Meteorology expects rains, heat-wave in several provinces

SANAA, June. 10 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology expected on Friday scattered rain in several provinces within the coming 24 hours.

The center affirmed in its weather forecast that the rains, accompanied with thunderstorms, would prevail over the western mountainous range of the provinces of Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Mahweet and Hajjah.

It pointed out that the weather might be warm, dry and relatively dusty in the deserts of Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Marib and Jawf, where temperatures range from 37 to 42 degrees Celsius.

It also expected that the weather would be relatively warm and dry on the coastal plains, and hot and humid on the coastal areas, with maximum temperatures ranging between 34 to 40 degrees Celsius.

The center pointed to the activity of the monsoon winds on the Socotra archipelago, with speeds of up to 30 knots, disturbing the sea and rising waves.

The center warned citizens in areas where it expected to rain to avoid being in flood streams and water ways, as well as drivers on roads and mountain slopes from low horizontal visibility due to rain.
