Hezbollah vows to use force against any Israeli violation of Lebanon’s maritime borders

LEBANON, Jun. 07 (YPA) – Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General, Naim Qassem, on Monday said “as soon as the government announces the Israeli enemy’s violation of Lebanon’s maritime borders, we will be ready to use force against the Zionist gas exploration operations.”

This statement comes a day after the arrival of a ship operated by the “Energean” company belonging to the Israeli enemy off the coast to extract gas from ‘Karish’ field.

Qassem explained that “when the Lebanese state says that the Israeli enemy is violating our waters and our oil, we are ready to use appropriate means, including force, to prevent Israel from attacking our waters and oil.”

He stressed that “the issue now requires a decisive decision and opinion from the Lebanese state. Does this ship operate in a disputed area or not?”

In response to a question about giving the Lebanese state a deadline before Hezbollah takes any action, Qassem said, “We do not give a deadline to the Lebanese state. The Lebanese state is above all, and it determines its course and we are under the state’s roof in such decisions.”

Qassem stressed, “Hezbollah’s decision is clear, when the state says that this area is disputed and Israel has attacked it, we will respond.”
