Al-Jouba people demand pressure on coalition to open roads in Marib

MARIB, May 25 (YPA) – The people and notables of Al-Jouba district in Marib province called for pressuring on the Saudi-led coalition to open the roads in the province.

During a protest vigil held today, the sons of Al-Jouba district confirmed that the closure of Al-Jouba road from Al-Falaj by the coalition forces caused suffering for the people of many district in the province.

They pointed that the distance to Marib has become taking 20 hours after it was taking only 20 minutes due to the closure of Al-Falaj.

The dignitaries of the district appealed to the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa to not agree or sign any new truce unless the roads of Al-Jouba, Serwah, and Madghal are opened.

In turn, the governor of Marib province in Sanaa government Ali Tua’iman said in a statement that many of the people of the southern districts in Marib are suffering because of the roads closure.

He revealed that the coalition forces impose royalties on travelers who have to pass through sandy roads, pointing out that the United Nations is talking about closing roads in Taiz while closing its eyes to the roads in Marib, which there is no justification for closing them.
