Yemenia launches flights on Airbus A330

SANAA, May 18 (YPA) – Yemen Airways Company (Yemenia) launched on Thursday the flights on the new Airbus A330 aircraft, which was purchased at the end of last year, and to be implemented at the beginning of the current year 2022.

At the inauguration ceremony, the Acting Director of Yemenia, Abdulmalik Mutaher, said that the plane would work to reduce the burden on civil flights and expand its work to a number of international points.

Mutaher added that the entry of Airbus A330 into service comes as part of the company’s efforts to develop and modernize its services, noting the advantages of this aircraft, as it can carry more than 270 passengers and travel longer distances without stopping.

Meanwhile, the Undersecretary of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Raed Jabal, considered the inauguration of flight with the new Airbus aircraft a positive step in the fields of air transport and Yemeni civil aviation, and achieving the desired national goals of the national carrier.

He expressed his hope that would be the first step in lifting the siege on the Yemeni people in general, and Sanaa Airport in particular.
