MOSCOW, May 18 (YPA) – Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has affirmed that the US is recruiting terrorists in Syria, including Daesh (ISIS) terrorists, to participate in the battles in Ukraine.
“Terrorists affiliated to the US are being trained at al-Tanf base, which is under the control of the US occupation forces in Syria, to send them to Ukraine,” Russia Today (RT) Website quoted the Russian intelligence’s statement on Tuesday.
The Russian intelligence noted that about 500 terrorists from Daesh (ISIS) and other terrorists from the Caucasus and Central Asia are being trained.
The statement stressed that the terrorist factions are directed primarily to carry out sabotage and terrorist acts against units of the Russian armed forces in Syria and now in Ukraine as well.
In March, Foreign Intelligence Service in Russia said that al-Tanf base, which is under control of the US occupation has witnessed training for terrorists affiliated to ISIS for moving them to Ukraine and using them in Donbas.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Koliba recently admitted that mercenaries from 16 countries numbering more than 1,000 people were on their way to his country and Ukraine’s got weapons from 19 countries.
