Russia: Ukraine’s accession to the EU would mean the end of it

MOSCOW, May 14 (YPA) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko on Saturday expressed Moscow’s conviction that Ukraine’s accession to the European Union would lead to the disintegration of this bloc .

 “If the European Union does indeed annex this country where Nazi formations and Nazi ideology contradicting European values prevail, this will mean the end of the European Union, ” Grushko told reporters today.

 The Russian diplomat stressed that “the role of Europe in international trade is declining, and that the centers of economic and political influence are moving towards the east .”

 He continued, “If the European Union does not care about Russia as an economic partner, then Moscow will act rationally, based on the new reality .”
