Government official survives assassination attempt in Aden

ADEN, May 01 (YPA) – An official in the Saudi-led coalition-backed government has survived an assassination attempt in the port city of Aden, southern Yemen, local sources reported on Sunday.

Gunmen on board a car opened fire on the car of Hussein bin Hussein Hadeel, Director of the Protocol Department in the Office of the Prime Minister, in Al-Mamelah Street in Al-Arish area in Khor Maksar district, the sources explained.

The sources confirmed that Hadeel was unharmed, without giving more details.

The city of Aden is witnessing an unprecedented insecurity in light of the conflict between the rival factions loyal to the coalition.
