Gunmen blown up oil wells in Shabwah

SHABWAH, March 31 (YPA) – Tribal gunmen have on Wednesday blew up oil wells in Shabwah province, southern Yemen, after ignoring their demands.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on the testimonies of local sources.

Sources said that armed Belharth tribesmen blew up oil wells in the Jannat field in Usaylan directorate.

According to the sources, the blown up the oil well came after the local authority ignored demands to decrease the price of oil, a rejection of the deal to hand over the Jannat field to Oxy and bring in troops from outside the province to protect the oil fields.
