Coalition deploys military vehicles in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, March 27 (YPA) – “First Military Region” loyal to the Saudi-led coalition deployed on Sunday a number of tanks and military vehicles in the oil-rich Hadramout Valley, east of Yemen.

Local sources in the province stated that the military region command of the leader Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, affiliated to Saudi-backed Islah Party, established a number of military points and deployed the tanks in the Khasha area.

Several activists of the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council militias, who is demanding the exit of Al-Ahmar militants from Wadi Hadramout, considered the deployment of tanks a direct threat against the so-called “Hadhrami Uprising, which has escalated against the region’s leadership since last December.

The Hadrami Uprising had closed a number of oil companies, threatening to prevent the export of oil through the Dhaba port on the Arabian Sea, and demanding that the province be given its share of oil revenues.
