HADRAMOUT, March 24 (YPA) – Reporters Without Borders (RSF) called on the Saudi-led coalition to release the Yemeni freelance journalist Hala Fuad Badhawi from one of its prisons run in Hadramout province.
The organization demanded on Twitter on Thursday that all charges against journalist Badhawi should be dropped.
On Wednesday, the province-held coalition intelligence began holding the first closed sessions to try journalist Badhawi, who has been detained since late last year for her writings against the corruption of the authority.
A number of Yemeni and international human rights organizations had condemned the arbitrary detention of Badhawi by the coalition military intelligence in Hadramout, calling for her release and the dropping of all charges.
The organizations denounced the arbitrary and illegal measures by which Badawi was arrested and imprisoned, and all the pressure exerted on her and her family members.
