European Parliament bans Russian diplomats from entering its premises

SANAA, March 18 (YPA) – The European Parliament has issued a decree banning Russian diplomats and government officials from entering its premises in Brussels and Strasbourg.

“As of today, diplomatic and government staff of Russia and Belarus are banned from entering the premises” of the European Parliament, said president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

“There is no place in the House of Democracy for those who seek to destroy the democratic order,” she added.

The move comes against the backdrop of Russia’s special military operation, which began on February 24th and is continuing with the aim of disarming Ukraine, eliminating Nazism and protecting the citizens in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics.
