Saudi Arabia moves to buy Chinese defense system

SANAA, March 11 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia is planning to acquire a Chinese defense system after the US Patriot system failed to intercept missile and drone attacks carried out by Yemeni army forces.

According to TacticalReport, which specializes in providing intelligence on the Middle East, talks are under way between the Saudi Defense Ministry and China to purchase air defense systems from China and Russia.

The negotiations include the purchase of a system produced by China’s CPMIEC, which was first unveiled in 2009.
