U.S. President declares ban all Russian oil imports

SANAA, March 08 (YPA) – U.S. President, Joe Biden, announced on Tuesday that his country States would impose a ban on all imports of Russian oil and gas.

Biden said in a televised speech: “our decision to ban all Russian oil and gas imports came in consultation with our allies,” noting that this decision “will not be without price in the United States, and we will do what is necessary to reduce the impact of American citizens on sanctions against Russia.”

“The United States understands that allies in Europe will not be able to join the ban on energy imports from Russia,” he added.

Biden pointed out that Washington “is imposing the largest and most influential package of sanctions in the world, which pushed the Russian economy to decline.”

Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Alexander Novak, had confirmed that the Russian oil embargo would lead to awful consequences on the global market, causing prices to jump to $300 a barrel or more.
