Moscow: US expulsion of 12 diplomats is a hostile move

SANAA, March 01 (YPA) – Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov has described the expulsion of 12 diplomats from the Russian mission to the United Nations as a “hostile move” .

“the  US government has once again violated its obligations to ensure normal working conditions for the representative offices of foreign countries in the world body, and Russian diplomats have been hit again,” said Anatoly Antonov.

“This is a hostile move against our country, “he said, adding that  Moscow was “deeply disappointed” and “totally rejected” the US claims.

He added, “Washington’s actions are not aimed at softening the international situation and maintaining the necessary level of bilateral relations between the great powers, which are particularly responsible for world peace and security.”

Antonov confirmed that the Russian Embassy expressed its full solidarity with its colleagues and was ready to provide assistance.

Washington said that it had expelled 12 Russian diplomats who were members of the Russian mission to the United Nations for “activities that are inconsistent with their qualities”.
