16 countries close their airspace to Russian planes

WORLD, Fed. 27 (YPA) – 16 European countries decided on Sunday to close their airspace to Russian aircraft; against the background of the military attack on Ukraine, as part of the sanctions imposed by Western powers on Russia.

This comes after the United States, Britain, Europe, and Canada took steps to exclude Russia from the global payments system “SWIFT”, as part of another round of sanctions against Moscow.

They said that the measures would also include restrictions on the international reserves of the Russian Central Bank.
