Taiz governor discusses with UN humanitarian situation

TAIZ, Feb. 22 (YPA) – Taiz governor, Salah Bajash, discussed on Tuesday, with the Resident Representative of the United Nations and the Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, William David Grisley, the humanitarian situation in the province.

In the meeting, the governor considered one of the provinces most affected by the war, pointing out that the service and development projects were subjected to bombing by Saudi-led coalition warplanes, which targeted roads, educational, health and water facilities.

Bajash drew attention to the provinces’ needs to support efforts to expand the drinking water network and sanitation projects, establish a general hospital, and restore and asphalt the main streets.

Meanwhile, Grisley indicated his understanding of the governorate’s humanitarian needs, especially service and development projects, stressing keenness to strengthen partnership between local authority and the UN organizations to support the course of projects.
