SANAA, Feb. 19 (YPA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry stressed the importance of the role played by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in resolving the crisis in Yemen and an end to the aggression and war in this country.
This came a meeting held by the minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.
“Concerning the current situation in Yemen,” he said, the issue of Yemen has reached a critical point, and that efforts must be intensified to resolve the political crisis and prevent the continuation of the humanitarian catastrophe.
“Emphasizing the humanitarian views and concerns of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the crisis and the continuation of the war in Yemen,” the Secretary-General of the United Nations indicated that the continuation of this humanitarian catastrophe is inappropriate for the world, stressing the need for the return of peace and stability to this country and the Yemeni people, in addition all parties and states must help achieve a political solution in Yemen.”
