Parliament condemns coalition’s airstrikes on civilian institutions

SANAA, Feb. 14 (YPA) – The House of Representatives strongly condemned on Monday the airstrikes continued by the Saudi-led coalition’s warplanes on the civilian institutions, facilities and objects in Yemen.

In a session, headed by vice-speaker of the Parliament, Abd al-Salam Saleh Hashoul Zabiyah, the council’s members also denounced the coalition’s threats to civil institutions and the systematic destruction of state institutions, roads, bridges, water wells and citizens’ homes, the latest of which was targeting Yemen International Telecommunication Company building in Sanaa, which caused damage to the building and technical equipment.

They affirmed that the coalition’s continued targeting of the telecommunications sector came within the framework of seeking to segregate Yemen from the external environment and to commit more massacres and war crimes against the Yemeni people.

The council considered the coalition’s threats to target civilian facilities a flagrant violation and a disregard for the international laws and organizations of human rights, which, had it not been for its shameful silence, the US-sponsored Saudi-Emirati coalition would not have continued in its arrogance in committing more massacres and horrific war crimes in Yemen.
