Civilians shot dead in Shabwa

SHABWA, Feb. 04 (YPA) – Two civilians were killed on Friday by armed gunmen in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

Local sources in the province stated that elements of police forces opened fire in the middle of the popular market on the two citizens, after a quarrel broke out between two sides in the city of Ataq.

Shabwa is witnessing security chaos as a result of the spread of the UAE-funded “Southern Transitional” Council militia and the groups of the Islah party backed Saudi Arabia to try to take control over the oil-rich province.
