UAE-backed militants stop military operations in Shabwa

SHABWA, Jan. 28 (YPA) – The UAE-funded mercenary unit known as the Al-Amaliqa Brigades have announced the end of their military operations in the southern Yemeni province of Shabwah.

The media center of Al-Amaliqa said they would begin transferring their brigades in what they called a repositioning.

The announcement by Al-Amaliqa forces come amidst reports of a de-escalation of UAE involvement in Yemen, following attacks by Yemeni forces on sensitive military positions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The mercenary unit said in an official statement that they had repositioned their forces in the province of Shabwa.
