SANAA, Jan. 17 (YPA) – Three Iranian diplomats have arrived in Jeddah to start their diplomatic work.
Spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Saeed Khatibzadeh, said in a televised conference that three diplomats from his country arrived in Saudi Arabia to carry out their duties from the headquarters of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah.
The semi-official Iranian Students’ News Agency reported that the three diplomats arrived in Jeddah, successively, during the past two days, and that the Iranian mission would begin its duties after six years of interruption.
The Jeddah-based Organization of the Islamic Conference has 57 member states and describes itself as the collective voice of the Islamic world.
The Iranian diplomats have arrived in Saudi Arabia for first time since 2016.
