UK is complicit in Saudi-led coalition’s war on Yemen

SANAA, June 14 (YPA) – The United Kingdom of Britain is complicit in the Saudi-led coalition war and blockade on Yemen, The Guardian Newspaper reported.

According to a report published on Wednesday, said that “the problem for Britain is that we are complicit in this attack. It is part of the coalition that supports Saudi Arabia in its war in Yemen. Yemen is already blockaded by the Saudi-led coalition forces and its allies.”

The UK has the Yemeni file in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), has joined the Saudi alliance in killing innocent people in Yemen through its military support to the coalition, as well as adopting a pro-Saudi approach, the report said.

Indeed, a recent presidential statement drafted by Britain had to be suppressed by other members of that same Security Council, adding that Britain rightly condemns the Houthis for launching sporadic missile attacks on Riyadh but stays silent on the nightly air attacks by the Saudi air force that kill innocent civilians in Yemen.

The newspaper said that the reason for the timing of the attack on the  Red Sea Port City of Hodeidah is to thwart any opportunity for UN envoy Martin Griffiths and the United Nations to secure a ceasefire on which the political talks should be based.
