Army foils offensive in Shabwa, Marib

SANAA, Jan. 12 (YPA) – The Yemeni army forces foiled on Wednesday a major offensive waged by the Saudi-led coalition forces toward the provinces of Shabwa and Marib, according to an army spokesman statement.

Spokesman, Yahya Sarie, affirmed in a news statement that dozens of the UAE-funded militants were killed and wounded in the attack towards Ain district of Shabwa and Harib district of Marib province.

“The coalition forces suffered also from heavy losses in the military equipment despite the air cover by the coalition warplanes on the districts, without making any progress,” he said.

The spokesman pointed out that the missile force accurately targeted the coalition gatherings with two ballistic missiles during the attack, killing and wounding large numbers of the coalition militants.

Sarie added that ambulances were watched and rushed to place to transport them after offensive.
