North Korea leader attends ‘successful’ hypersonic missile launch

SANAA, Jan. 12 (YPA) – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un attended the launch of another hypersonic missile test for the first time in more than a year, state media reported Wednesday.

North Korea on Wednesday successfully tested a hypersonic  missile, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

“The launch test was aimed at finally verifying the overall technical specifications of the sonic weapons system,” the agency said.

The launch is the second test of its kind in less than a week, underscoring Kim’s pledge to strengthen the military’s capabilities in the New Year with the latest technology at a time when talks with South Korea and the United States have stalled.
