Pro-UAE troops force Islah militants to evacuate security points in Shabwah

SHABWAH, Jan. 04 (YPA) – As part of precautionary security measures taken by pro-UAE militias, Islah militants have been forced to leave all military posts in Yemen’s Shabwah province.

Activists from Shabwah province said that the “special forces” of the Islah Party evacuated all security points in the coasts and directorates of Shabwah province, following directives issued by the Saudi-led coalition .

The move comes in the context of a series of measures taken by UAE-backed forces against al-Islah militants after the Giants militia entered Shabwah province early last week.

Yesterday, the UAE militia expelled  the Islah militants from al-Alam camp in Jardan area near ataq city.

The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s supporters are showing joy and gloating at the removal of military and political components from the province, following a decision by Hadi to oust the pro-Islah governor from Shabwah province on December 25th.
