Awqaf Authority condemns coalition’s destruction of mosque in capital Sanaa

SANAA, Jan. 03 (YPA) – The General Authority for Awqaf on Sunday condemned the destruction of a mosque by the US-backed Saudi-led coalition aircraft in Sawad Asr area in the Ma’een district of the capital Sanaa.

In a statement, the Authority denounced the coalition’s persistence in targeting and destroying the worship places and Islamic historical monuments in a way that contradicts religious laws, norms, charters, and international and humanitarian laws.

“The authority affirmed this targeting of the historical and archaeological landmarks reveals the coalition countries’ hatred against the Yemeni people, its history and human civilization.

The statement called on the international community and the United Nations to play their role in stopping the barbarism and arrogance of the coalition in targeting Yemeni antiquities and human heritage.
