SANAA, Dec. 31 (YPA) – The Customs Authority denied the allegation make in a statement issued by Saudi-led aggression regarding the customs center in Al-Sawadiyah in Bayda, in which it claims that the center was using for military actions.
The authority said in a statement that Al-Sawadiyah Customs center is an old customs yard was established in mid-2019, and the United Nations office in Sana’a was informed at the time.
The statement stated that the United Nations was informed when creating or resuming work at any customs site to avoid being targeted by the coalition of aggression.
The authority condemned the aggression’s threats to target Al-Sawadiyah customs, as it is one of the civilian objects whose targeting is prohibited by international laws and covenants.
It warned of the catastrophic consequences for lives and public and private property if the aggression targeted Al-Sawadiyah customs.
The authority emphasized that Al-Sawadiyah Customs is used for purely civil purposes in a way that serves Yemeni society in all its categories.
It called on the United Nations and all human rights, legal and media institutions and organizations to visit Al-Sawadiyah Customs and expose the allegations of the aggression.
