SANAA, Dec. 25 (YPA) – A leader in al-Qaeda escaped on Saturday an assassination attempt in in the city of Seiyun in Hadramout province, east of Yemen.
According to local sources, a son of al-Qaeda leader “Abu al-Hassan al-Masry”, called Khaled Mustafa al-Sulaimani, who holds an “Egyptian national”, was subjected to an assassination attempt due to disputes with military leaders in the “First Military Region” of the leader of the Saudi-backed Islah party Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar.
The source attributed the disputes reason between the Islah leaders to the failure of Al-Masry’s son to implement directives.
The source indicated that al-Sulaimani tried to establish his own independent organization that did not abide by the directives of the Islah leaders, which was rejected.
Al-Sulaimani practiced a number of activities, including the mobilization of groups of al-Qaeda elements to Marib and Jadfar front in Jawf, reinforced by armed vehicles disbursed by the leader Saghir bin Aziz.
