UAE directs its militias to control over camps in Balhaf gas facility

SHABWA, Dec. 19 (YPA) – The UAE issued urgent directives to the “Shabwani Elite” militia to head to its camps in the Balhaf gas facility in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

Media sources said that the directives came in preparation for attacking Saudi-backed Islah militants in Ataq city and the rest of the districts.

The sources affirmed that Islah militants strengthened their presence in the areas experiencing tension to prevent armed groups from joining the camps of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council militia.

Islah’s military leadership vowed to confront what it described as “the calls that undermine security and social peace in Shabwa,” considering that the UAE’s moves aim to shuffle the cards and destabilize the province.

This comes in conjunction with Saudi Arabia summoning the governor of the “Hadi government” in Shabwa, Mohammed Saleh bin Adio, and Sheikh Awadh al-Wazir who returned from the Emirates to the province in early November.
