Minister of Health: Over 35,000 killed, wounded since beginning of aggression

SANAA, June 12 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population, Taha al-Mutawakil, said that the number of killed  and wounded civilians, who arrived at hospitals and health facilities since the beginning of the aggression until June 9, has reached 35,927.

Mutawakil said in a press conference held on Tuesday in Sanaa that the number of killed civilians reached to 11,001, including 2,230 children, and 1,698 women while the number of wounded are 22,215 cases, including 3, 248 children, and 2,645 women, and the total number of  disabilitycases has reach to 2081.

The Minister called on the United Nations and its various bodies to work for stopping the aggression and lift all-out blockade so that patients can travel abroad for treatment, in addition to allowing the access of medicines and medical supplies.

Mutawakil added that  the number of health facilities totally and partially destroyed, due to coalition war, reach to more than 400 facilities.

The ministry renewed its condemnation of the targeting of health facilities, the latest of which was the direct shelling of the cholera treatment center in Abas district of  Hajjah province, which is managed by MSF in violation of all international and humanitarian conventions and laws.
