UAE reveals goal of foreign minister’s visit to Damascus

DUBAI, Nov. 10 (YPA) – Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE crown prince, commented on his country’s foreign minister Abdullah bin Zayed’s visit to Damascus,

He said in a tweet that his country’s goal of continuing to “build bridges, strengthen relations and reach what has been cut off” is to take care of “the Arab dimension and spare the region further congestion and ongoing conflicts.”

UAE Foreign Minister, Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, arrived in the Syrian capital Damascus on Tuesday in the first visit since the outbreak of the revolution in 2011.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed and discussed “bilateral relations and the development of cooperation in areas of common concern.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah Al Nahyan, for his part, affirmed the UAE’s support for stability efforts in Syria, considering that what has happened in Syria had affected all the Arab countries.
